The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) International Coordination Council (ICC) has appointed Narayan Bhandari (social worker) as the chairperson of the Youth Entrepreneurship and Leadership Committee. The ICC meeting held on 18th August selected Bhandari to the post for the 2025-2027 term. As the chairperson of the committee, he will report directly to the head of the Youth Department. While Mahesh Shrestha's leadership is trying to make the association unified and effective, the faction led by the association's President Badri KC is busy bypassing the legal process and forming parallel committees in the National Coordination Councils (NCCs) of various countries. Activists have said that this move has raised serious questions about the unity, democratic system and legal legitimacy of the association. Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Mahesh Shrestha has said that the Badri KC-led working committee's attempt to hold a general convention while the case is pending in the Supreme Court is a clear disobedience to the court's order. According to Shrestha, the order to present the issue of whether Badri KC's working committee will work or not until 2082 Kartik 4 (October 21, 2025) to the full bench of the Supreme Court was given by a joint bench of Justice Bal Krishna Dhakal and Justice Abdul Aziz Musalman in the Supreme Court on Baisakh 23.
