The 14th edition of the festival started at the Yankee Lake International Convention Center in Beijing, the capital of China. The opening ceremony was grand, with 200 stars shining on the red carpet, including director Peter Chan and renowned filmmaker Zhang Yimou, according to the Global Times. 90-year-old veteran actor Yu Benchang and Hu Ge, the main character of the famous TV drama 'Blossoms Shanghai', also participated in the opening ceremony. Myanmar Leader Suu Kyi was transferred from prison and placed under house Arrest

Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who is in jail, has been placed under house arrest from prison, a military official said Wednesday, as the junta government announced measures to protect prisoners from the Lu wave. 78-year-old Nobel laureate Suu Kyi is serving a 27-year prison sentence on multiple criminal charges, from corruption to violating Covid-19 regulations. After seizing power in a 2021 military coup and being detained by the military, Suu Kyi has been largely hidden from view and is said to be suffering from health problems. A military official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Suu Kyi and former president Win Myint had been released from prison under house arrest. Junta spokesman Jaw Min Tun said the hot weather had prompted the authorities to take measures to protect vulnerable prisoners. 13 April, Kathmandu. Nepal defeated Qatar by 32 runs in their second match under ACC Premier Cup 2024 on Saturday. Chasing the huge target of 211 runs given by Nepal at the Al Amret Cricket Ground in Oman, Qatar managed to score only 178 runs by losing 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airi scored 64 runs in 21 balls with the help of 3 fours and 7 sixes and Asif Shaikh contributed 52 runs and Qatar got a huge target of 211 runs. For Qatar, captain Mohammad Tanveer scored 63 runs in 33 balls, Mohammad Anaf scored 23, Kamran Khan scored 18, Adan Mirza scored 19, and Himanshu Rathod added 22 runs, but it was not enough for the team to win. After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Malaysia scored 143 runs after losing three wickets in the allotted overs. Opener batsman Virendeep Singh contributed unbeaten 72 runs for Malaysia.
