Iran to Resume Nuclear Talks with US if it gets Guarantees of no Further Attacks

  Tehran: Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that he would agree to resume nuclear talks with the United States if he received assurances that there would be no further attacks against his country. In a speech to foreign diplomats in Tehran, Foreign Minister Araghchi said Iran has always been ready for talks on its nuclear program and will be ready in the future. “But if talks resume, they must be assured that this trend will not lead to war,” he said. Referring to the 12-day Israeli bombing of Iran’s nuclear and military sites and the US attack on June 22, he said, “If the US and others want to resume talks with Iran, they must first have firm guarantees that such actions will not be repeated. The attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities have made it more difficult and complicated to achieve a negotiated solution.” Iran suspended cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog (IAEA) after the attack.
