Trilateral clash in NRNA America, Kharel, Sah for president, and Anup Khanal takes over as Adhikari general secretary

The voting process for selecting the new leadership of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) USA began on Sunday. About 13,000 members of the association will vote for their preferred candidates through ballots sent via email and mobile.

This time, there will be a three-way competition between Bhanu Kharel, Satendra Sah, and Ramhari Adhikari for the post of president. All three candidates were intensifying the final phase of activities to woo voters before the election.

Due to the divisions, disputes, and internal dissatisfaction seen in the last term, this time the members have appeared more cautious in selecting the leadership. In states with a large number of voters, like California, New York, and Texas, members have expressed expectations for the new leadership.

Along with the president, there is also competition for other positions, including vice president, general secretary, secretary, and others. All three candidates have entered the field with a pail.

Anup Khanal from the Kharel team, Binod Poudel from the Adhikari team, and Mohan Neupane from the Sah team have become the candidates for general secretary.

Campaigners in the US have estimated that Anup Khanal of the Kharel team is the frontrunner for the post of general secretary.

Bhanu's team has been supported by NRNA personalities Keshav Poudel, current NRNA ICC Vice President, and NRNA ICC Vice President Buddhi Subedi. It is said that the same team has a strong chance of winning.

Satendra has been supported by NRNA ICC Vice President Sunil Sah, Public Relations Committee America President Anand Bist, while Adhikari has been supported by Nepali Congress leader Bishnu Subedi. The election has looked interesting as various groups and leaders have supported their close candidates.

NRNA leader Keshav Poudel has said that the election should be taken as an opportunity. He said, 'Even though this election is taking place in difficult circumstances, it is an opportunity to unite us and move the collective issue forward in a positive direction. He has sincerely requested all voters to elect capable leadership.
