  Kathmandu. The third edition of the provincial-level franchise competition, Koshi Pride League (KPL), organized by Koshi Pride Pvt. Ltd., is scheduled to be held from Falgun 9 to 21. Stating that it will be held ‘with the encouragement of the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), CAN Secretary Paras Khadka, and the Koshi Province Cricket Association,’ KPL Director Afzal Hossain informed a press conference held in Kathmandu on Sunday that seven franchise teams will participate in the competition. According to Hossain, Namuna Blasters, Itahari Adarsh ​​Giants, Birtamod Hits, Purveli Super Kings, Everest Thunders, BN Koshi Arnas, and Gorkha Avengers will participate in the competition. “Sixth Genius Music Award-2081” held in grand style Chief Minister Baniya honours various personalities



Kathmandu — The “Sixth Genius Music Award-2081 and Genius Achievement Award-2025” and “Genius Folk Dance Competition-2082” organized by Genius Digital Music Pvt. Ltd., which is continuously active in the promotion of Nepali music, art, and culture, have been held in the capital in a grand style.

Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Indra Bahadur Baniya was the chief guest at the event.


Senior singer Meera Rana, who has made a long-term contribution to the Nepali music sector, was awarded the ‘Dirgha Sadhana Samman’ at the event.


Similarly, Ramji Bagale, Tulsi Giri, Chandramani Gautam, Suren Kunwa, and Akkal Kunwar were honoured under the ‘Genius Journalism Samman’.


Rammani Neupane, Loknath Bhat, and Dr. Krishnahari Barwerewas awarded the Genius Achievement Award-2025.

Similarly, Devendra Shahi, Basanta Ghimire, Pradeep Aryal, Roshan Kumar Shrestha, Rudra Bahadur Nepal, Junu Ghimire, Prakash Kumar Shrestha, Jayaram Timilsina, and Deepa Shrestha were also honored with special honors.


Sonam Pakhrin, Shobha Tripathi, Process Pandey, Ashwini Kant Jha, Deepika Balami, Sandeep Bhuiyan, Tekraj Pandey, Apsana Newa Hayu, Jiten Tamang, Ishwar Gurung, Jitendra Maharjan, Suraj Poud, and Bijeta Pariyar were honored under the Creators and Special Honors.


Awards were given to artists who excelled in more than 40 different categories.

Best New Singer (Folk/Dhoori) Riya Khatri,

Best Singer (Folk/Dhoori) Purnakala B.C.,

Best Singer (Pop) Mamta Gurung,

Best Singer (Modern) Rachana Rimal,

Best Lyricist (Film) Shravan Mukarung,

Best Music Composer (Film) Arjun Pokharel,

Public Choice Award Durgesh Thapa (“Dushman Hereko Herai”),

Public Face Award Umar Khan,

and Public Choice (Jury) Sarika Ghimire (“Gun Bhulayu”).


Similarly, artists including Priyanka Karki, Durgesh Thapa, Mahesh Shilpakar, Raj Sigdel, Shiva Kailash, Arjun Sapkota, and Santosh Rajvakhak also won awards in various categories.


Attractive performances were shown at the school level in the folk dance competition.
