London—Dr. Ramesh Adhikari of Tripurasundari-3, Dhadin, has been honored with the ‘Best Principal Award 2025’ at the ‘Nepal Education Awards UK 2025’ ceremony held at the historic University of Greenwich in London.
Dr. Ramesh Adhikari, Principal of South Western School, was honored with the medal at a ceremony organized by College Readers magazine at the University of Greenwich on Monday in the presence of the Nepali Ambassador to the UK, Chandra Kumar Ghimire, as the chief guest, and the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Jane Harrington, and the vice-chancellors and officials of various Nepali universities.
Dr. Adhikari was honored as part of an initiative to honor individuals who have contributed to educational advancement in Nepal at the international level, said Prof. Dr. Deepak Bahadur Shakya, Vice-Chancellor of Madhesh University and head of the jury.
Addressing the ceremony, Nepali Ambassador to the UK Chandra Kumar Ghimire said that these awards are a celebration of the Nepal-UK partnership and shared values. He said that Nepali students have become globally competitive and are contributing to the development of Nepal's society and economy through knowledge creation and innovation. "Excellence has no boundaries. We are moving towards building a free and fair society by creating and sharing knowledge with the aim of leaving no one behind in Nepal. Building a free, just, and inclusive society is our common goal, which will further strengthen the friendship between the two countries," he said.
The University of Greenwich is a vibrant public institution established in 1890 as Greenwich Polytechnic, which currently has around 25,000 students from more than 125 countries.
At the ceremony, Keshav Nepal, executive editor of College Readers magazine, said that Nepal has a lot to learn from the UK's educational tradition and centuries-old civilization, and that the Nepali education sector is now making a name for itself on the global stage.
Claire Matthews, Executive Director (Marketing and Student Relations) of the University of Greenwich, said her university is keen to establish long-term partnerships with educational institutions in Nepal.
