The voting process for selecting the new leadership of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) USA began on Sunday. About 13,000 members of the association will vote for their preferred candidates through ballots sent via email and mobile. Top Maoist leader killed in encounter with security forces in India


The top leader of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) has been killed in an encounter with the police in India. Indian media reported that CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Nambala Keshav Rao was killed in an encounter in the Abujamad forest of Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday morning. According to The Wire, 26 Maoists, including Rao, were killed in the encounter in the forest. Indian officials have called it the biggest achievement so far in the operation against Naxalism. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have confirmed the killing of the Maoist general secretary in a post on X. Prime Minister Modi said that he is proud of the security forces, describing it as a significant achievement. Security personnel were also injured in the encounter. Some have been taken to the hospital and are said to be in stable condition. Security personnel have recovered a large number of weapons from the forest. The Maoists have condemned the incident.
