National Assembly member Bamdev Gautam has said that the major forces that brought about the current system, the Nepali Congress and the Communist Parties, should unite and declare socialism for the country immediately. He said this while participating in the discussion on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill in the National Assembly's meeting on Wednesday. He said that even though the constitution drafted and implemented ten years ago promised to take the country to socialism, the parties have not been able to do anything. He said that the people are disappointed because the parties and the government have not been able to work in a way that embodies the spirit and essence of the constitution. He claimed that whenever people go to any public place in Nepal, they are against the leaders and the system. He said that anti-system forces are gaining momentum in society. He said that if the parties are not alert and address the public grievances in time, they should be aware of the possibility of another system coming. He said that the country has reached the brink of a major disaster and no one can stop it even according to the principle of change. He said, "While participating in the discussion of policies, programs, principles and priorities, I feel that we are on the brink of a very bad incident for the Nepali people and the nation. I do not know how long we will discuss like this. But if what should happen does not happen, something else will happen, this is the principle. No one can stop it. Even if someone tries to stop it, if such a situation occurs, it will lead to a disaster and the people and the nation will have to bear a huge loss. The Constitution of Nepal says that a socialist state should be built to make Nepal a state, and that is hanging on the lips of all the socialist-oriented leaders, but socialism could not be built.' He further said, 'Go to the village, go to the street, go to the tea shop, tell me honestly what is going on. There is a discussion against us, there is a discussion against this system. It is gaining momentum. That momentum will explode one day and we will all be finished. So there is a chance for some time. The Nepali Congress and the Communists are the ones who will bring this system. Come together and declare socialism, the socialism that was envisioned, the socialism mentioned in the constitution. We should start that work without delay.' National Assembly member Gautam complained that he had prepared the blueprint of socialism for four years, but none of the leaders had studied it. -News Agency Nepal
