Government deficit of Rs. 1.284 trillion, only Rs. 91.59 billion added in FY 2080/81


Kathmandu. The deficit of government offices, organized organizations and other institutions, committees, provincial bodies and local levels has exceeded Rs 1284 billion. According to the 62nd annual report of the Auditor General made public today, the deficit has increased by Rs 91.59 billion in the last one year, i.e. in the fiscal year 2080/81 alone. According to the 62nd report of the Auditor General, the updated deficit pointed out by the audit of federal government offices, provincial government offices, local levels and institutions is Rs 733.19 billion. The updated deficit has increased by 9.45 percent compared to the previous year. Similarly, the amount to be settled by taking action on additional audit arrears, revenue arrears, foreign grants and loans to be reimbursed has reached Rs 551 billion and 10 million, totaling Rs 1284.2 billion.  Thus, the total expenditure so far has exceeded Rs. 1284.20 billion. The updated expenditure includes Rs. 375.47 billion for federal government offices, Rs. 3048.19 billion for provincial government offices, Rs. 292.29 billion for local levels, and Rs. 117.94 billion for committees and other organizations.
