  Kathmandu. The third edition of the provincial-level franchise competition, Koshi Pride League (KPL), organized by Koshi Pride Pvt. Ltd., is scheduled to be held from Falgun 9 to 21. Stating that it will be held ‘with the encouragement of the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), CAN Secretary Paras Khadka, and the Koshi Province Cricket Association,’ KPL Director Afzal Hossain informed a press conference held in Kathmandu on Sunday that seven franchise teams will participate in the competition. According to Hossain, Namuna Blasters, Itahari Adarsh ​​Giants, Birtamod Hits, Purveli Super Kings, Everest Thunders, BN Koshi Arnas, and Gorkha Avengers will participate in the competition. Hossain also revealed the names of the owners of all seven franchise teams at the press conference. The official trailer of the film 'Jar,' featuring actors Geetanjali Thapa, Saugat Malla, and Anup Vikram Shahi, among others, has been unveiled.  


The trailer, released at an event in Kathmandu on Thursday, provides insights into the film's storyline and the roles of the actors. The movie is based on the literary work of renowned writer Indra Bahadur Rai. 


Produced by Fairy Tale Pictures and directed by Phurba Shering Lama, ‘Jar' brings a historic narrative to the screen. Speaking at the trailer launch, director Lama expressed pride in adapting such a significant literary piece, ensuring that the essence of the story remains uncompromised.  


"Adapting a story from a book to the screen is a challenge in itself. We have crafted 'Jar' with deep respect for the emotions and essence of Indra Bahadur Rai’s work," Lama said. Actors Saugat Malla and Anup Vikram Shahi shared their pride in being part of a project that captures a piece of history.  


Geetanjali Thapa, who plays a lead role in the film, is an award-winning actress and a recipient of the Indian National Film Award.
