Some time ago, news went viral on social media that Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara: Chapter 2' had been postponed. However, the producers have confirmed in an unusual manner that 'Kantara Chapter 1' has not been postponed and have also announced the film's release date. According to them, 'Kantara Chapter–1' will be released in theaters on October 2 of this year. Following the 2022 blockbuster film, mastermind Rishab Shetty has put all his efforts into the prequel of 'Kantara.'

Notably, the film will feature over 500 trained fighters and a massive cast of 3,000 people, along with exceptional action sequences captured by national and international experts. 'Kantara: Chapter 1' is based on the Kadamba era of coastal Karnataka. The Kadambas ruled over parts of Karnataka for a long time and played a significant role in shaping the region's architecture and culture. That period is even considered a golden era in Indian history.

In the film, Rishab Shetty not only plays the lead role but has also directed it. In 2023, Shetty announced that what the audience saw in 'Kantara' was actually part 2 of the upcoming film, and the next release after this would be the prequel to 'Kantara.' Announcing 'Kantara Chapter 1,' Rishab had said, "We are extremely happy that the audience loved this film. We will always be grateful to those who showered immense love and support on 'Kantara.' The film has successfully completed 100 days, and on this occasion, I would like to announce the prequel of 'Kantara.' What you have seen is actually part 2; part 1 will come next year."

Rishab Shetty's film 'Kantara' was the most-watched film of 2022. The audience greatly appreciated the film's storyline. The film was initially released in the Kannada language, but after seeing its success, the producers decided to release it across India.
