The voting process for selecting the new leadership of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) USA began on Sunday. About 13,000 members of the association will vote for their preferred candidates through ballots sent via email and mobile. This time, there will be a three-way competition between Bhanu Kharel, Satendra Sah, and Ramhari Adhikari for the post of president. All three candidates were intensifying the final phase of activities to woo voters before the election. Due to the divisions, disputes, and internal dissatisfaction seen in the last term, this time the members have appeared more cautious in selecting the leadership. In states with a large number of voters, like California, New York, and Texas, members have expressed expectations for the new leadership. "Increase memory power" or "Boost memory strength"

"Who doesn’t wish for a strong memory or good recall ability? Yet, not everyone has the same memory capacity. Moreover, memory tends to decline with age. There is no such medicine specifically made to boost memory. However, consuming nutritious food, regular exercise, and adequate sleep (at least 8 hours a day) can enhance brain activity and improve memory. Some nutrients are known to sharpen the brain and increase memory retention. Consuming these foods can also slow down age-related memory decline.

To enhance memory, one should increase the intake of antioxidants and flavonoids in their diet. These compounds also help in fighting diseases. For this, foods rich in vitamins A, C, and E—such as eggs, carrots, broccoli, fish, leafy greens, and fruits—should be consumed sufficiently. These foods reduce the rate of cellular damage in the brain. To increase flavonoid levels in the body, one should consume grapes, onions, apples, green tea, and black tea. Drinking at least 3 cups of green tea daily, eating three to four varieties of fruits, and consuming two pieces of dark chocolate can keep the body healthy while also improving memory.

Iron deficiency in the body also weakens memory. To replenish iron, one should eat meat, fish, beans, nuts, and green vegetables. Both plant-based and animal-based proteins should be increased to ensure the body gets iron easily. A compound called lecithin helps in building cell membranes and also enhances memory. Foods containing lecithin include eggs, soybeans, and lentils.

Omega-3 fatty acids are also beneficial for the brain. This nutrient is found in fish, flaxseed oil, soybeans, walnuts, and corn. Similarly, experts suggest that consuming foods rich in vitamin B1 and B12 keeps the nervous system healthy and improves memory."
