Kathmandu – Today, the only Nepali movie 'Dori' has been released nationwide in theaters across Nepal. The film has been released with around 120 shows throughout the country. However, due to various ongoing protests in the Kathmandu Valley—the primary market for Nepali films—no significant advance bookings have been observed for any new or currently running movies. It is expected that audiences will start visiting theaters for evening shows once the protest activities subside.
The Central Film Censor Board has granted 'Dori' a PG (Parental Guidance) certificate, meaning children under 16 can only watch it with parental supervision. Director Arun Lama shared that 'Dori' blends social themes with humor, thriller elements, and horror, making it relatable to audiences in some way or another. He expressed confidence that viewers would connect emotionally with the story.
Arun Lama has written and directed 'Dori' while also playing the lead role. The film features performances by Prabin Khatiwada, Shishir Bangdel, Prakash Ghimire, Anjana Baraili, Raj Poudel, Kavita Ale, Nutan, Raj Thapa, Virendra Singh Kushwaha, Sharda Adhikari, Prem Subba, Sajan Shrestha, Rambabu Regmi, and others.
The movie is produced by Dinesh Bhattarai, with Raj Thapa as the executive producer. The script is by Dr. Manoj Pandit, while the key crew includes Dinesh Bahadur Rawat (Chief Assistant Director), Raju Tamang (Action Director), Rajan Raj Siwakoti (Music Director), Saurabh Lama (Cinematographer), Roshan Diwana (Art Director), Milan Shrestha (Editor), and Renish Fago (Colorist).
