Kathmandu. The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) High-Level Committee, formed as per the Supreme Court's mandate, has taken a 7-point decision. The decision of the 12th meeting held on Sunday was made public on Monday and various 7-point decisions were made. The meeting, chaired by Coordinator Dr. Shesh Ghale and attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Law, discussed the work and progress made so far and made various 7-point decisions, according to a statement issued by the committee's member secretaries Janaki Gurung and Rabina Thapa on Monday. Accordingly, a financial subcommittee has been formed under the NRNA High-Level Committee under the coordination of Kul Acharya, Coordinator of the Financial Subcommittee, with Sunil Sah (USA) as Member Secretary.

The subcommittee has 9 members from the Americas, 21 from the Europe region, 4 from the Africa region, 6 from the Middle East region, 9 from the Asia Pacific region and 6 from the Oceania region, totaling 55 members. The statement mentioned that the subcommittee can add more members as per the requirement.
Similarly, in line with the responsibility of facilitating and coordinating the National Coordination Councils for the necessary activities, the coordinator of the NCC Coordination Subcommittee, Binod Kunwar, informed the meeting that the work of updating, renewing and new registration has been accelerated with a focus on the upcoming Unity General Convention. Accordingly, the high-level committee has again called upon all NRNs eligible to become members of the NRN to become members or renew their membership by 31 March 2025.
Similarly, if an MoU has been signed between the high-level committee and the National Coordination Council (NCC), it has been decided to proceed accordingly, and if there is no agreement, it has been decided to appoint a new coordinator in that country and proceed with the work, said the subcommittee coordinator Kunwar.
Similarly, the meeting decided to request the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate immediate access to the NRNA secretariat, documents, MIS system, etc. despite the Supreme Court's decision implementation directorate writing letters twice, and this has hindered the preparations for the Unity Convention, the statement said.
Earlier, Aruna Joshi, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, who participated in the meeting, had suggested that the committee should write to the concerned ministry in case of any inconvenience in carrying out election-related work.
Similarly, the meeting has called on everyone to be confident that the Ekta General Convention will be held in Kathmandu on May 3-5, 2025, with the support and coordination of the Supreme Court and the Government of Nepal.
Similarly, the committee has also formalized the decision to form an election committee consisting of Senior Advocate Gopal Krishna Ghimire, Chief Election Commissioner and Retired Major Damar Ghale and Advocate Ashish Upreti, Election Commissioner, for the purpose of conducting free and fair elections, the statement said. Meanwhile, the conference held by the Badri KC group in Thailand has become a mere name. The activists have said that the conference, which was held without the committee formed as per the Supreme Court's mandate, has not been productive except for the involvement of activists from his faction.
