Kathmandu. Asia's prestigious Beijing International Film Festival has started. The 14th edition of the festival started at the Yankee Lake International Convention Center in Beijing, the capital of China. The opening ceremony was grand, with 200 stars shining on the red carpet, including director Peter Chan and renowned filmmaker Zhang Yimou, according to the Global Times. 90-year-old veteran actor Yu Benchang and Hu Ge, the main character of the famous TV drama 'Blossoms Shanghai', also participated in the opening ceremony. Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who is in jail, has been placed under house arrest from prison, a military official said Wednesday, as the junta government announced measures to protect prisoners from the Lu wave. 78-year-old Nobel laureate Suu Kyi is serving a 27-year prison sentence on multiple criminal charges, from corruption to violating Covid-19 regulations. After seizing power in a 2021 military coup and being detained by the military, Suu Kyi has been largely hidden from view and is said to be suffering from health problems.
