NRNA Unity Convention Coordinator Ghale increases Activism, there is no Alternative to Unity - Activist Raj Regmi

Kathmandu, NRNA High-Level Committee Coordinator Shesh Ghale has further increased his activity to successfully hold the NRNA Unity Convention in May. Accordingly, he has prepared to visit various countries of the world and hold discussions and interactions with activists there.

Accordingly, Ghale is reaching Dubai on March 21, UK on March 22 and 23, Belgium on March 24, and Portugal on March 25. Similarly, Ghale is scheduled to reach Qatar on March 27. Upon reaching there, he will meet as many NRNA activists as possible and will do necessary work for unity, informed activist Gangadhar Gautam.

It is said that Ghale's team will include NRNA activist RK Sharma, other members of the committee, and influential activists. Ghale has intensified all preparations to hold the NRNA Unity Convention, and even though a group within the NRNA has adopted a policy of non-cooperation, coordinator Ghale has the support of a large number of activists.

Meanwhile, even those involved in the Badri KC group's NRNA have started to come out in favor of Ghale, while many activists have said that there is no alternative to a unity convention after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent representatives from the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the general convention in accordance with the Supreme Court's order and the order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Middle East activist Raj Regmi says that there is no alternative to unity. He was elected as the vice-president from the 11th general convention and said that if there is an agreement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, departmental ministers and other legal experts will protect the organization from division and strengthen it. Regmi said that to strengthen the organization, the KC-led working committee should be allowed to work until October and the high-level committee should be given the responsibility of the election. Regmi also said that the upcoming convention should be held by consensus on the date set by the court, following the court's first verdict and the mandate of the Implementation Department, by the 13-member high-level committee led by Dr. Shesh Ghale and, if necessary, by adding some other members.

Stating that everyone should accept democratic methods and procedures, he said that if the court agrees to document the working committee formed in the 10th convention with 3 chairpersons and others in a manner that respects them, it is possible to hold the unity convention on May 3, 4, and 5, 2025, as per the court's decision. Or, even if the time has to be extended due to some technical reasons, he argues that there is a simple legal system.

"Let's not delay in reaching an agreement, let's coordinate and collaborate, let's forget the past misunderstandings and mistakes made knowingly and unknowingly, and let's move forward in unity with the determination to unite so that the society and the house built with everyone's hard work and effort will not be broken," Regmi has called.

However, the Badri KC faction has not supported Ghale. Instead, they have only been carrying out activities to stop Ghale. They have even tried to defy the decision made on Chaitra 21 in the name of unity dialogue.

A member of the high-level committee said that the Badri group has committed despicable acts. The committee is also reportedly discussing how to bring him to justice.

In a high-level committee meeting convened by the Foreign Minister last Friday, Minister Arju Rana had directed to hold the unity convention in May as per the court's order. While Ghale was preparing accordingly, Badri tried to disrupt it.

In 2078, after a dispute within the NRNA, two 10th NRNA conventions were held at that time. Binod Kunwar was elected president from one convention and Kul Acharya, Rabina Thapa and Badri KC (three) were elected presidents from the other convention. Although there were two conventions, the government agencies and the foreign ministry gave the NRNA, which had three presidents at that time, the authority. Even though the NRNA led by Kunwar went to court against this, the Supreme Court gave the order to hold the unity convention under the leadership of Ghale on Magh 1, 2078 without giving authority to anyone. Along with that order, the foreign ministry had banned KC, who was elected from the 11th general convention, from working.

Committee coordinator Dr. Shesh Ghale said that as per the court's order, there is an obligation to hold the general convention of the unity by May 19. Accordingly, the committee has announced to hold the general convention of the unity in Kathmandu from May 3 to 5 and said that the convention will be held on time. He said that if the general convention is not held within that period, it will be a disgrace to the court.
