Non-Resident Nepali Association celebrates 22nd foundation day with aarti and lamp lighting at Pashupati



Kathmandu - The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) celebrated its 22nd foundation day on Saturday. On that occasion, the NRNA lit a lamp at the Buddhist Stupa in Swayambhu.


At the program, the office bearers and members of the working committee led by the association's president, Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, lit 108 lamps, wishing for peace and prosperity.

On the occasion, the association's president, Shrestha, said that there is a need for unity among the non-resident Nepalis at present. He also informed that efforts are being made for that.



President Shrestha, stating that the Genji movement of last Bhadra 23-24 had caused extensive damage to the country, called for unity in the reconstruction of the nation.

At the program, NRNA High-Level Committee member Binod Kunwar emphasized that everyone should give up personal stubbornness and work together in unity.

Vice President Biswasdeep Tigela urged that since the role of the NRNA has increased further in the current context, they should unite and contribute to the prosperity of Nepal and Nepalis by joining hands.

Treasurer of the association Thakur Dhungana informed that the reconstruction work of the NRNA has continued after the Genji movement and that the reconstruction of the traffic control room at Baggikhana has reached the final stage.



Established on October 11, 2003, NRNA has branches in more than 80 countries in line with the main motto of "Once a Nepali, always a Nepali".


The association has organized a tea ceremony program at Baggikhana on Saturday itself on the occasion of NRN Day. Similarly, a lamp lighting program was also organized at the aarti site in Pashupati on Saturday evening. The program was attended by the above-mentioned officials including President Shrestha, NRNA leaders RK Sharma, Manoj Gorkhali (Vice President), Dharmaraj Giri (NRNA Sports Council Member Secretary), Sanjay Dhakal (President, NRNA Thailand), Narayan Samaj Sebi, Umesh Pudasaini (NRNA activist), among others.
