
Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba has requested the Qatari Foreign Ministry's Special Envoy for Climate Change and Sustainability to take further initiatives for Bipin Joshi's condition and his return to Nepal. Minister Rana made the request during a meeting with Qatari Foreign Ministry Special Envoy Badr Omar Ismail Al-Dhafa, who arrived in Kathmandu to participate in the Sagarmatha Dialogue, on Friday. During the courtesy call with Foreign Minister Rana, the situation of Nepali youth Bipin Joshi, who was abducted by Hamas, was discussed. Minister Rana thanked Qatar for its efforts for Bipin Joshi's release and return to Nepal, and reiterated her request to continue the initiative in this regard and take further initiatives for Joshi's release. Earlier, Minister Rana had repeatedly requested the Qatari Foreign Minister and the chief mediator in Hamas' peace talks with Israel to take necessary initiatives for Bipin's release. Minister Rana has been urging the world community to support the release and repatriation of Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who has been held hostage by Hamas since 2023. During the meeting on Friday, Minister Rana thanked Qatar for its participation in the Sagarmatha Dialogue and also discussed cooperation that can be done to reduce the impact of climate change in the coming days.
