"Fee determination for NRNA Unity Convention candidacy: How much for each position?"

 

Kathmandu, April 1 – The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has finalized the nomination fees for candidates vying for leadership positions in its upcoming "Unity Convention," scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from May 3–5, 2025.

The High-Level Committee, formed by the Supreme Court, set the fees during its 13th meeting. The fee structure is as follows:

  • President: NPR 700,000

  • Vice President: NPR 500,000

  • General Secretary: NPR 400,000

  • Secretary & Treasurer: NPR 300,000 each

  • Joint Treasurer to Coordinator: NPR 200,000

  • Deputy Coordinator to ICC Member: NPR 100,000

Committee Member-Secretary Janaki Gurung confirmed the details.

Election Committee Formed

The High-Level Committee has already established a three-member Election Committee, comprising:

  • Coordinator: Senior Advocate Gopal Krishna Ghimire

  • Members: Retired Major Damar Ghale & Advocate Ashish Upreti

The election body will begin formal work once the membership and delegate lists are handed over. Additionally, the committee has decided to draft the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the election process within a week.

Deadlines Extended

  • Membership registration deadline extended to April 7.

  • Delegate applications open from April 1–22.

  • Kathmandu-based delegates must pay $100 or equivalent NPR to register.

New Registration Portal

Due to inaccessibility of the MIS system, the committee has launched its own website (dhadha.lachalbaja.aym) for mandatory registration—even for lifetime NRNA members, clarified Committee Chair Dr. Shesh Ghale
