The “Honor and Special Meeting Program” organized by the Chefs Association of Nepal in Kathmandu has concluded in a grand manner. The program honored individuals who have made significant contributions to the prosperity of Nepali tourism, agricultural products, hotel-restaurant and cookery sectors. At the program, Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) President and ‘Guardian of Nepali Tourism’ title holder Binayak Shah was given a special honor in appreciation of his continuous contribution to Nepali tourism leadership.
Similarly, REBAN Association President Sangharsh Bista was presented with a certificate of honor in recognition of his service-oriented approach to Nepali and foreign guests, accommodation facilities and contribution to tourism promotion for nearly three decades. At the program, after inspecting and touring the household and kitchen materials produced by Green Agro Nepal Pvt. Ltd., it was also announced that the Chefs Association of Nepal, satisfied with the success they have achieved, has provided a letter of recommendation.
Govinda Narsingh K.C., who received the Gorkha Dakshinbahu Medal and is considered Nepal's first five-star chef, was honored with a gold medal and a "Legendary Award". In addition, Master Chef Shyam Bahadur Tamang, who has been serving and contributing to the Nepali cookery sector for a long time, was awarded the 'Legendary Chef Honor'.
A special honor medal was presented to Pushpa Thapa Magar, the founding president of the Chefs Association and the mentor of the Nepali chef community. Founding president Krishna Lama, who played a significant role in creating the vision and foundation for the construction of the Chefs' own building, was also presented with a certificate of honor in appreciation of his contribution to realizing the dream of building the building.
Chefs from various genres and hotel-restaurant sectors were also honored at the program. The association has expressed its expectation that this honor program will add new energy, inspiration and professional determination to the chef community. The program was chaired by Resham Kumar Lama, president of the Chefs Association of Nepal.
