  Kathmandu. The third edition of the provincial-level franchise competition, Koshi Pride League (KPL), organized by Koshi Pride Pvt. Ltd., is scheduled to be held from Falgun 9 to 21. Stating that it will be held ‘with the encouragement of the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), CAN Secretary Paras Khadka, and the Koshi Province Cricket Association,’ KPL Director Afzal Hossain informed a press conference held in Kathmandu on Sunday that seven franchise teams will participate in the competition. According to Hossain, Namuna Blasters, Itahari Adarsh ​​Giants, Birtamod Hits, Purveli Super Kings, Everest Thunders, BN Koshi Arnas, and Gorkha Avengers will participate in the competition. New executive committee of Nepal-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry elected under Shrestha's chairmanship

 

Kathmandu. The 14th Annual General Meeting of the Nepal-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NVCCI) has elected a new working committee under the chairmanship of Sunil Bhakta Shrestha. Under the new working committee, Urmila Shrestha has been elected as Senior Vice President and Suresh Man Shrestha and Gopal Das Manandhar have been elected as Vice Presidents. 


Similarly, Naveen Saru (Dol B Thapa) has been elected as General Secretary, Swati Ghoriwala as Treasurer, Pavitra Man Gurung and Prakash (Ram) Shrestha have been elected as Secretaries, while Manishlal Pradhan, Sushil Sthapit, Deepak Marhajan, Sanjeev Tuladhar, Raju Shrestha, Shyam Marwadi, Rashmi Pant, Kumar Shrestha, Prakash Regmi, Ayush Bahadur Shrestha, Ramesh Parajuli, Bidhata Shrestha, Achyut Bahadur Hada, Saksham Ghimire, Sarvottam Lal Shrestha have been elected as members. Similarly, the working committee has elected Kiran Kumar Shrestha, Dhruv Kumar Shrestha and Dr. Saroj Adhikari as Advisors. 


The Election Officer announced the names of the newly elected office bearers and members and presented them with certificates.


The program was chaired by Deepak Kumar Malhotra, President of the Nepal-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, Honorary Consul of Vietnam to Nepal, was present as the chief guest.


Inaugurating the program, Honorary Consul Shrestha, the chief guest, mentioned that the role of the Chamber is important in taking Nepal-Vietnam trade relations to a higher level. He said, “The potential of Nepali products in the Vietnamese market is increasing. The Chamber’s activity can further expand Nepali export capacity.”


In addition, Honorary Consul Shrestha said that there is a need to increase cooperation between the two countries and mentioned that there is a lot of potential for investment expansion in the agriculture, tourism, trade and information technology sectors. He also emphasized the need for direct air flights between Nepal and Vietnam.


In the meeting, President Deepak Kumar Malhotra highlighted the initiatives and activities taken by the Chamber in the past to expand Nepal-Vietnam trade. He expressed his regret that the attitude towards businessmen and industrialists in the country is currently becoming negative. He also said, “There is even greater potential in Nepal-Vietnam trade relations. If the private sector moves forward actively, the economies of both countries will benefit.”


In the meeting, General Secretary Gopaldas Manandhar presented the annual report for 2080/81-2081/82 and the proposal for amending the statute. Similarly, Treasurer Kavi Kumar Tibarewala made public the financial report and informed that the organization is becoming financially strong.


Awards were presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to Vietnam-related trade and business. The honorees included importer Shyam Marwadi, Managing Director of Nepal-Vietnam Joint Venture Company ‘Pho 99’ Thi Kim Kwong Wo (Bao), and Urmila Shrestha for her contributions to publications, support, and strengthening the organization. In addition, President Malhotra presented certificates to those who received lifetime memberships of the chamber.


After the inauguration ceremony, newly elected President Sunil Bhakta Shrestha expressed his commitment to play a more active role in expanding trade relations with Vietnam. He said, “The trade potential between the two countries is huge. In the coming term, we will continue to strengthen the platform for trade promotion, investment attraction and connecting businessmen.”


The program was successfully concluded, according to the Nepal-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
