Kathmandu. Former Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Rabina Thapa has congratulated Sushila Karki on her appointment as the first female Prime Minister of Nepal.
Thapa, in a statement, said that she is proud that the Genji generation campaign has succeeded in producing the first female Prime Minister in Nepal's history. She said that the historical presence of women in Nepal's leadership is a source of national pride.
According to her, there is a need to address sensitive issues such as the continuity of Nepali citizenship based on lineage through a constitutional amendment. Thapa believes that this step will bring the new generation of Nepalis scattered around the world closer to their homeland and strengthen national ties.
Thapa said that millions of Nepalis living abroad are dedicated to their homeland and are eager to contribute to nation-building. She emphasized that Nepal should be moved towards sustainable development through an investment-friendly legal framework, transparent policies, good governance, and a stable administrative system.
"If Nepal can create an investment-friendly environment, Nepalis living abroad can become a strong foundation for the economic prosperity, social development, and international image of the motherland," she said in a statement. Thapa expressed confidence in the new government and said that all Nepalis should cooperate in holding the elections on time.
