Anu Karki alias Sneha from Morang is living in Greece and running a fraud business on Nepalis in collaboration with Pakistanis.

Anu Karki alias Sneha Thapa of Kathmandu, Morang has been found to be running a fraud business against Nepalis living in Greece. Janaswal has obtained the fact that she held Nepalis hostage there, extorted ransom, forced them to work and then cheated them without paying.

According to two dozen victims who came in contact with Janaswal from there, she lured Nepalis who came in contact through TikTok, Facebook and agents by telling them that food was ready in her room in Greece, that she would put them to work after eating and resting for some time, and then work as a middleman, and collect ransom. The victims claim that she used to employ the youths who came in contact with her for 14 to 16 euros per day, while the victims claim that she took 12 euros and gave only two to four euros to the workers.

Suresh Pandey (name changed), who is from Chitwan and is currently in Bulgaria, was called by the young woman 15 days ago, saying that she would get them a job in Greece with an unattractive salary. Suresh left Greece for Bulgaria in search of a lucrative salary. Suresh's sister Renuka Pandey, who is currently in Portugal, says, 'Anu Karki, who goes by the name Sneha Thapa on TikTok, sent me a plane ticket online from Greece. It was a fake ticket. The police caught my brother at the airport.' She adds, 'After paying 30 euros there, my brother bought a bus ticket and traveled ten hours from Bulgaria to Greece. There, Anu Karki contacted Pakistanis and threatened to kill them if they did not pay 2,200 euros. They kidnapped my brother for three days.' The victims claim that Anu (Sneha) was running such a fraudulent business in Greece with her husband, Quasim Masim, and other Pakistanis. Their cover is that they are restaurant owners. Suresh, who escaped from Greece after paying 2,200 euros to the Pakistanis, was sent to Malta. Suresh's son-in-law (Renuka's husband) lives in Malta. According to Renuka, Anu Karki from Morang, in collusion with Pakistanis, used to bring more than 900 Nepalis to her in Greece and cheat them by offering them various temptations. Renuka says that 3 dozen Nepalis whom Anu had called to work in Greece are in prison in Greece and that she has been in contact with them. She says, 'Anu and the Pakistanis have been beating them to death if they do not pay the ransom, they have even broken one person's hand, and have taken away the passports of many.' Another young man, requesting anonymity, said, 'I came to Greece from Romania after paying three thousand euros through the contact of Anu Karki (Sneha Thapa). When I arrived at the airport in the capital Athens, no one came to pick me up. A Pakistani showed me a bus and asked me to board it. They took me on a bus to an uninhabited place called Argos where no one was seen. They kept me there for three and a half months. They made me lie down on the sand for several days. When I called, I could not contact Sneha. Only then did I find out that I had been sold. They also took my passport. When I asked for a passport, they repeatedly threatened me by saying that they would only give me three thousand euros. Even when I came back after paying the TRC, they paid three thousand. I asked for money from Nepal to pay. They did not even give me the salary for the work I had done. They robbed me of seven thousand euros. Sneha's current husband is a Pakistani man named Masir.' Jeevan Ojha, who is from Bhojpur in Nepal and is currently in Greece, also says that he reached Greece in contact with Sneha. It has been eight months since he arrived there, but he has not found any job yet. He told Janaswal, 'I am living in a flat provided by the government here. I have Saroj Pandey from Nuwakot and a friend from Bhojpur.’ Jeevan, who has been in Greece for eight months after living in Romania and Poland for some time, says, ‘Sneha has been in contact with Nepalis through TikTok and bringing young women to Greece and forcing some of them to engage in immoral activities with Pakistanis. After we filed a complaint with the local police, Sneha and her husband Masir have now fled, while some Pakistanis have been arrested. When the Nepalis who came to Greece and worked in contact with her ask for their salary, she threatens to slit their throats and kill them. If Sneha and the Pakistanis meet us, they will probably kill themselves.’ He says that he has paid Sneha 6,000 euros so far. He says that Sneha has the passports of the friends with her and that when she asks for the passports, she asks for 25 to 3500 euros instead. According to Jeevan, Sneha came to Greece from Romania. She is living in Greece illegally and is running a fraud business. Jeevan adds, “There are hundreds of Nepalis here who have been cheated by Sneha and Masir, but no one wants to speak out for fear of being killed by them.”

Three dozen victims have come in contact with us. They informed us about Sneha’s fraud, but requested us not to mention their names out of fear.
