Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Shrestha welcomed to Nepali Embassy in the US



Washington, DC. Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Mahesh Kumar Shrestha was welcomed to the Nepali Embassy in the US by Ambassador Lok Darshan Regmi. At a program organized in Washington, DC on Friday, Ambassador Regmi welcomed the team including President Shrestha and praised the global network of NRNA and its contribution to the welfare of Nepali diaspora.

Ambassador Regmi appreciated the role played by NRNA in strengthening the relationship between Nepal and the Nepali diaspora and expressed confidence that the association would achieve more achievements under the leadership of President Shrestha.

President Shrestha, expressing gratitude for the hospitality of the Nepali Embassy, ​​discussed the legitimacy of the new working committee elected under his leadership at the recent NRNA Unity Convention held in Kathmandu on May 3-4, 2025, and the role played by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He said, ‘Our aim is to protect the rights and interests of Nepalis living abroad and also contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of Nepal.’ Leaders of the Nepali community, NRNA officials and embassy staff were present on the occasion.

Chairman Shrestha called on the Nepali community in the US to unite and contribute more to the development of Nepal. He expressed his belief that the collaboration between the diplomatic mission of Nepal and the NRNA will bring more positive results in the future.
