Army and APF in the final of the national women's football, Gurung wishes success


Bharatpur, Tribhuvan Army Football Club has entered the final of the ongoing national women's football tournament in Chitwan. The Army came close to the title by defeating Rautahat FC in the second semi-final held on Thursday.

In an exciting match, the Army won 6-3. Rautahat took the lead against the Army in 30 seconds of the game. Then the Army returned to the game. Chandra Bhandari scored four goals in the Army's victory. Bimala and Hima Chaudhary scored the other two goals.

The Army will now face APF FC Kathmandu for the title. APF has already entered the finals by winning 11-0 against Bharatpur-24 in the first semi-final.

The final match of the tournament, organized by the Chitwan District Football Association and promoted by Bharatpur Metropolitan City, will be held on Saturday, the 9th. The winner of the tournament will receive Rs 300,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 150,000.

Two departmental teams, APF FC Kathmandu and Tribhuvan Army FC, are competing for the title. The match will start at 3:30 pm at the Bharatpur 7 Krishnapur ground.

In the pre-match conference, both teams have said that they are aiming to win the title. APF coach Janak Singh said that his team will take the field with the aim of winning the title. He said that he would not consider Army weak but would come out to win the title.

He also said that the match against Army would be competitive. He said that the strength of APF is that most of the national team players are in APF.

Captain Anita Basnet said that APF will present its own style of play. She also said that she will not consider the opponent weak.

Army coach Krishna Singh Thagunna said that he is confident of defeating APF and winning the title this time. He indicated that there may be some changes in the final.

Despite losing in previous matches against Army, he said that his goal is to win this time. Captain Sunita Chaudhary said that Army's goal is the title.

Army has an opportunity to take revenge against APF. APF defeated Army in the final of the Ilam Gold Cup held on Falgun 24.
