Trilateral clash in NRNA America, Kharel, Sah for president, and Anup Khanal takes over as Adhikari general secretary

The voting process for selecting the new leadership of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) USA began on Sunday. About 13,000 members of the association will vote for their preferred candidates through ballots sent via email and mobile. This time, there will be a three-way competition between Bhanu Kharel, Satendra Sah, and Ramhari Adhikari for the post of president. All three candidates were intensifying the final phase of activities to woo voters before the election. Fake Birth Certificate Case: Absconding Ward Chairman Hari Subedi Arrested

 


Dhading, 4-Dhunibeshi, 28th Asoj 2082 — Hari Subedi, the ward chairman of Dhunibeshi Municipality Ward No. 4 in Dhading district, who has been absconding for a long time, has been arrested in the fake birth certificate case.


On Saturday morning, a police team deployed from Dhading based on a special information arrested Subedi, who was hiding in front of Baba Petrol Pump in Kalanki, Kathmandu. Subedi has been accused of making a fake birth certificate of a minor.


Earlier, the police had also arrested ward secretary Milan Subedi in the same case and is currently in custody for investigation.



As the complainant in the case, Ganesh Pariyar has been reaching out to the police office, Dalit Commission and other concerned bodies in search of justice. He has also demanded a high-level investigation into the matter.


Civil society, local residents, and human rights activists have also expressed concern over the incident, suspecting that the minor's birth certificate is being misused for political and personal gain.


The Dhading police have stated that the arrested ward chair Subedi will be brought to Dhading for further investigation.
