The voting process for selecting the new leadership of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) USA began on Sunday. About 13,000 members of the association will vote for their preferred candidates through ballots sent via email and mobile. This time, there will be a three-way competition between Bhanu Kharel, Satendra Sah, and Ramhari Adhikari for the post of president. All three candidates were intensifying the final phase of activities to woo voters before the election. Due to the divisions, disputes, and internal dissatisfaction seen in the last term, this time the members have appeared more cautious in selecting the leadership. In states with a large number of voters, like California, New York, and Texas, members have expressed expectations for the new leadership. 'Immediately' with Kta: Inspector slaps jawan, is this what is taught in training? (Video)

A video of a traffic police inspector posted at the Thankot checkpoint beating a police constable from the Thankot circle is currently going viral. Immediately after the video went public, the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari, issued a statement saying that both of them have been removed from their duties and an investigation has been launched. The office showed interest after a video of the inspector slapping a policeman posted for security at the checkpoint went public on social media. Both the policemen who beat and were beaten up in Nagdhunga, Kathmandu, have been removed from their duties. SP Deepak Giri, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, said that the incident took place on Wednesday morning and an investigation has been launched into it. We asked Giri in Nepal News 'Tatkalai', 'We were watching a video of the police beating the public. Did the police start beating the police while they were there?' In response, he said, 'Incidents, accidents happen and there are rules, laws and police regulations. There have been some shortcomings.  Now, the investigation committee will take action based on who is at fault. We are also aware of some things that were seen in the video. What is the reason, why, that will become clear after the investigation.' He said that it is not possible to speak based on speculation now without the report of the investigation committee. After this video was made public, the public is now suspecting that a senior inspector will be left in the setting but a jawan will be framed. When we inquired about this suspicion of the public, he said that the investigation will be impartial. The officer sitting on the investigation committee will understand all the parties and draw a conclusion. We have to trust that. There will be no biased behavior,' he said. Earlier, on April 12, a video of three traffic policemen beating a driver in broad daylight in Sundhara went viral. We asked Giri, 'Why are such incidents repeating themselves? Why are the police violating discipline? Is this what is taught in training?'
