Trilateral clash in NRNA America, Kharel, Sah for president, and Anup Khanal takes over as Adhikari general secretary

The voting process for selecting the new leadership of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) USA began on Sunday. About 13,000 members of the association will vote for their preferred candidates through ballots sent via email and mobile. This time, there will be a three-way competition between Bhanu Kharel, Satendra Sah, and Ramhari Adhikari for the post of president. All three candidates were intensifying the final phase of activities to woo voters before the election. Due to the divisions, disputes, and internal dissatisfaction seen in the last term, this time the members have appeared more cautious in selecting the leadership. "After the curfew was imposed in Kathmandu, vehicles were stopped at Nala and Sangha."



After violent protests at Tinkune in Kathmandu, vehicles entering the valley have been stopped at the Nala and Sangha checkpoints.

According to SP Basundhara Khadka of the Kavre District Police Office, vehicles entering Kathmandu from the two checkpoints have currently been halted.

*‘As the situation in Kathmandu has not yet come under control, we have temporarily stopped the flow of vehicles from here for some time,’* she said.

She mentioned that it is not yet certain for how long the restrictions will remain in place.
