Rastriya Banijya Bank to invest in Budhigandaki Hydropower, Chairman Neupane and CEO Khanal signed on behalf of the promoter company

Kathmandu (JAS)-A loan agreement has been signed for Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited to invest in the 4.6 MW Super Machha Khola Hydropower Project to be constructed in Laprak, Dharche Rural Municipality-4, Gorkha district. The investment agreement for the project was signed on Thursday by Chairman Khagendra Neupane on behalf of Budhigandaki Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer Devendra Raman Khanal on behalf of the bank. The project, estimated to cost a total of Rs 963.83 million, will have 70 percent loan and 30 percent equity investment.
According to the promoter company, Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited will invest Rs 674.68 million towards the loan investment, while the remaining Rs 289.15 million will be equity investment. The project will generate 27.379 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually. 18621 gigawatt hours of electricity will be generated in the rainy season and 8.75 gigawatt hours in the winter.
An experienced group including the company's chairman Khagendra Neupane, managing director Krishna Prasad Ghimire, directors Saroj Dhital, John Ghale, Indra Bahadur Dhakal, and Binod Thapa are going to build the project. This group has previously built and commissioned a 4.55 MW development hydropower project in the same area 6 months ahead of schedule, and the company's initial public offering (IPO) is also in the process of being issued within 6 months.
This group, which has gained experience in hydropower, has stated that it will bring this Budhi Gandaki Hydropower project into operation within the next 18 months. The project signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Nepal Electricity Authority on 21 Asad 2080. The company has also stated that it has prepared the detailed project report (DPR) of the project.
The project's transmission line will be switched to Bikash Hydropower and connected to Salyantar Sub-Station in Dhading. The project is also preparing to issue shares to the general public soon by converting the company into a public limited company within the next 6 months and going for an initial public offering (IPO).
The team that successfully completed the construction and successfully connected Bikash Hydro to the national transmission line, and the team headed by NRNA ICC Vice President Khagendra Neupane, have also earned a reputation as successful hydro developers.
The company has announced that it will build an additional 24 MW Shangri-La Hydropower to successfully complete the project and start operation this year, according to a statement issued by Hydropower's Managing Director Krishna Prasad Ghimire.
At the program, Devendra Raman Khanal, Chief Executive Officer of Rastriya Banijya Bank, said that the team won hearts by constructing Bikash Hydropower on time, so they have invested in another project as well.
After the success of Bikash Hydro, the team that started Budhigandaki Hydropower and Shangrila Hydropower has said that it will complete the hydropower on time.
The project, which has been started in Dharche Rural Municipality of Gorkha district, is led by Khagendra Neupane, Vice President of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) ICC and a successful businessman. The same team has previously successfully completed Bikash Hydropower in the same area ahead of the time given by the Electricity Authority.
After successfully completing Bikash Hydropower, the Super Machhakhola Hydropower Project of 4.6 MW and Shangrila Hydropower of 24 MW have been started to contribute even if it is small to the development of the country, said Chairman Khagendra Neupane. Neupane, a very successful businessman from Malaysia, stated that water resources, forests and land are the important basis for the development of the country and said that non-resident Nepalis also have a great contribution to the development of the country. He said that like the previous Bikash Hydro, he will win the hearts of investors by completing the other 2 hydro projects ahead of schedule. Similarly, another director, Krishna Ghimire, urged everyone to love other projects like Bikash Hydro. Ghimire said that they will soon build more hydro projects.
Neupane said that the hydro project will be completed on time because of the support of Nepalis and NRNAs living in the country and abroad and the agile team. He said that so far they have been investing only in small projects, but now they are preparing to build 50/100 megawatt projects above 25 megawatts in the near future. Neupane said that we have moved forward with the idea that hydropower is the future of Nepal and we need to revolutionize it. He said that the management team will be the head of the hydro power team, and that is why we have such teamwork.
